WhatsApp for iOS has recently introduced a new feature that allows users to create events within group chats. This feature, which was initially spotted in a beta version of the Android app, is now available in the stable version of WhatsApp for iPhone users. The addition of this feature comes alongside other updates such as quick reply shortcuts for video notes and an in-app dialer for the Calls tab.

The Event option in group chats can be found by tapping the “+” icon in the chat. This opens up an activity menu where users can select “Event” to create a new event. Users can specify the event name, add a description, set the start time, and even enter a location if necessary. Additionally, there is an option to toggle the WhatsApp call link, allowing for easy communication during the event. This new feature is available to all WhatsApp for iOS users.

Like many updates, new features in WhatsApp are typically rolled out gradually, so it may take some time for all users to have access. Gadgets 360 staff members were able to access the event feature after updating to the latest version of the app. The introduction of the Event feature in group chats expands the functionality of WhatsApp beyond individual and community chats, making it easier for users to plan and coordinate group activities.

In addition to the new Event feature, WhatsApp recently rolled out Meta AI, an artificial intelligence chatbot, in regions like India. There are reports suggesting that users may soon be able to choose between two AI models: Llama 3-70B and Llama 3-405B. The former is designed to provide quick responses, while the latter is Meta’s largest AI model with 400 billion parameters. However, the Llama 3-405B model has not been released to the public yet.

Overall, the introduction of the Event feature in WhatsApp group chats for iOS users enhances the app’s functionality and offers a new way for users to coordinate activities within their groups. With the gradual rollout of new features and updates, WhatsApp continues to innovate and improve the user experience for its millions of users worldwide.
