Following the exodus of top researchers from Stability AI, CEO Emad Mostaque has also decided to step down from his position. In light of Mostaque’s departure, Stability AI’s board has appointed Shan Shan Wong and Christian Laforte as interim replacements. Mostaque’s founding of Stability AI in 2020 and the subsequent financial backing of the company led to the development of groundbreaking AI models, such as the open-source text-to-image generation model Stable Diffusion.
