In a video demonstration, CrossBot is seen squatting at the curb and rolling out into the crosswalk when traffic is clear. The screen on the robot turns green when it’s safe to cross, providing a visual signal to kids and visually impaired individuals.

While some parents are skeptical about the idea of a robotic crossing guard replacing human guards, others, like Angela Roberts, see the potential benefits of such innovation. With schools experiencing a shortage of crossing guards in various districts and the need for reliable safety measures for children, the introduction of CrossBot could be a solution to this ongoing issue.
