Instagram unveiled its Creator Lab in India during an event held in Mumbai, showcasing a new educational resource focused on content creators in the country. This program will include insights and strategies from 14 popular Instagram users in India, aiming to support and empower aspiring creators. The content will be available in both English and Hindi, with captions provided in additional languages for wider accessibility.

Along with the announcement of the Creator Lab, Instagram introduced three new features to enhance user engagement on the platform. The first feature, Comments in Stories, allows users to comment on stories posted by others. These comments will be visible to all users and will disappear after 24 hours, unless the story is added to Highlights. Additionally, users have the option to disable comments on their stories for privacy control.

Instagram is also rolling out the ability to use cutouts of images as stickers in direct messages (DMs). Users will now be able to select images from their camera roll and send them as stickers in chat conversations. This feature builds on the existing functionality of using image cutouts as stickers in stories, providing a fun and creative way to communicate with friends on the platform.

Another upcoming feature on Instagram is Birthday Notes, designed to increase user engagement and enhance the birthday experience on the platform. Users who choose to enable this feature will see a small hat icon in the Instagram Notes section on their birthday. Birthday Notes will follow the same privacy settings as regular Instagram notes, ensuring user control over who can view their birthday messages.

Instagram’s new Creator Lab initiative in India aims to empower content creators with valuable insights and resources to enhance their presence on the platform. The introduction of features like Comments in Stories, image cutout stickers in DMs, and Birthday Notes demonstrates Instagram’s commitment to fostering user engagement and creativity. These new additions are set to further enrich the Instagram experience for users in India and beyond, offering innovative ways to connect, share, and celebrate milestones on the platform.
