AT&T customers are currently facing a major issue with their service, as many are reporting seeing “SOS” instead of their usual signal bars. This problem has led to customers reaching out to AT&T directly on social media platforms like Twitter, specifically targeting AT&T’s Help account. Complaints range from being stuck in SOS mode to having no service at all.
Internally, AT&T has discovered that a failure at a switching center is the root cause of these widespread issues. This failure has triggered a domino effect of problems, including delays in service, the inability to activate new SIM cards, and a complete loss of network connectivity for many users. Interestingly, these issues seem to be impacting primarily iPhone and other Apple device users, although reports of service problems on some Android devices have also surfaced on Reddit.
