Recently, Dead by Daylight announced their upcoming chapter inspired by Dungeons & Dragons, featuring a new killer pulled from the fantasy RPG. This news has generated a lot of excitement among fans of both Dead by Daylight and D&D, as it promises to introduce new gameplay elements and characters to the popular horror game.
Vecna, a long-running mega-baddie and inspiration for the Stranger Things villain, will be the newest killer in Dead by Daylight. Voiced by Critical Role dungeon master Matthew Mercer, Vecna will bring a new level of terror to the game. With four spells at his disposal, including the ability to fly, cast projectiles, manipulate objects with Mage Hand, and reveal survivors with a Dispelling Sphere, Vecna will be a formidable opponent for players to face. Additionally, players will have the opportunity to find Vecna’s Hand and Eye in treasure chests around the new Forgotten Ruins map, granting them powerful gear if they roll a critical success on a d20.
The new survivor characters, Baermar Uraz and Aestri Yazar, make up The Troupe. These human and elf bards have unique abilities that allow them to create illusions, provide speed boosts to allies, and spot nearby generators and items. The addition of these new survivors will provide players with fresh strategies and playstyles to explore in the game.
After the release of the D&D chapter, Dead by Daylight developers teased an upcoming chapter inspired by Castlevania. Fans can expect to learn more about this new chapter on August 6th, with speculation pointing towards the inclusion of iconic characters like Dracula and a Belmont survivor. Additionally, a new supersized casual mode is set to launch this summer, pitting two killers against eight survivors in an intense gameplay experience. This mode will introduce a unique class system and team abilities for the killers to utilize.
During a recent stream, Behaviour Interactive also showcased Supermassive’s narrative spin-off, The Casting of Frank Stone, and teased an Insider Programme for a PvE game codenamed Project T. Another exciting announcement was the release of a new Dead by Daylight spin-off titled What the Fog, a two-player co-op roguelite set in a cursed board game reminiscent of Jumanji. This new spin-off is already available for purchase at an affordable price.
The upcoming Dead by Daylight chapter promises to deliver thrilling new content and gameplay experiences for fans of the game. With the introduction of Vecna as the new killer, along with The Troupe as new survivors, players can look forward to engaging with fresh challenges and mechanics. Additionally, the teasers for future chapters and the announcement of the supersized casual mode indicate that Dead by Daylight has plenty of exciting content planned for the future.
