TikTok, the social media platform known for its video content, is now taking inspiration from Instagram with its latest feature – “Collaboration.” This feature allows users to tag collaborators on a post, linking their profiles and enabling joint content creation.
Upon analyzing the code updates, it has been revealed that creators can invite up to 5 others to collaborate on a post. Users have the option to approve or decline collaboration requests, giving them control over who they work with. Additionally, users can remove themselves as collaborators at any time. Collaborator posts will be visible on both the creator and collaborator profiles, but only the creator can edit the post. This feature allows users to invite collaborators up to four times per month.
While the Collaboration feature on TikTok shares similarities with Instagram’s collaborative posts, such as the ability to add multiple collaborators, there are some differences. For instance, Instagram allows up to six collaborators per post, with no limit on the number of collaboration posts per month.
Despite similarities to existing features on other platforms, TikTok’s Collaboration feature could offer valuable advantages. It provides creators with a new way to interact with their audience and expand their reach on the app. Additionally, the feature could be useful for conducting affiliate campaigns and showcasing brands to a wider audience through partner collaborations.
Although the Collaboration feature has not been officially released, it is currently in the late-stage testing phase. This indicates that the feature could be rolled out to users in the near future, offering them new opportunities for collaboration and content creation on TikTok.
