Razer has introduced its latest mobile gaming controller, the Kishi Ultra, which boasts the ability to seamlessly switch between multiple devices. The controller features a built-in USB-C port that caters to a wide range of devices, including the latest iPhone 15 series and various Android smartphones such as the Galaxy 23 series and Pixel 6. Additionally, it is said to be compatible with foldable devices like the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and other similar models. The controller can even be expanded to fit an iPad Mini or any 8-inch Android tablet, offering versatility for gamers on the go.
One standout feature of the Kishi Ultra is Razer’s Sensa HD immersive haptics, which promises to enhance the gaming experience by converting audio into haptic feedback. This technology, previously seen in Razer’s Project Esther concept gaming chair showcased at CES, is now making its way to a commercially available product for the first time, allowing a wider audience to experience its capabilities. However, it is worth noting that the Sensa haptics currently only support Android 12 or above and Windows 11, excluding iOS devices.
In addition to the immersive haptics, the Kishi Ultra is equipped with a pair of Chroma RGB lights below the joysticks, adding a touch of customization to the controller. Users will need to download the Razer Nexus app, available on both iOS and Android, to fully utilize the features of the Kishi Ultra. The app allows for the launch of mobile games and seamless integration with Apple Arcade, Xbox Game Pass, and the Google Play Store. Razer has also unveiled an updated version of its more affordable Kishi V2 controller, which includes a USB-C port for iPhone 15 and Android devices, offering similar functionality for a lower price point.
Both the Razer Kishi Ultra and Kishi V2 USB-C controllers are currently available for purchase in stores or online. The premium Kishi Ultra is priced at $150, while the more budget-friendly Kishi V2 retails for $99, providing options for gamers with different preferences and budgets. Overall, Razer’s new mobile gaming controllers offer a range of features and compatibility options, catering to a diverse audience of mobile gamers looking to enhance their gaming experience on various devices.
